 The HLC Counselling and Psychotherapy service provides a highly confidential, community based counselling and psychotherapy service, a safe place where you can talk about your worries and get the support you need to help you find real and practical solutions to deal with life’s problems. In addition, we provide opportunities for you to develop useful life skills and to achieve more of your personal potential.

The Centre is actively involved in education, research and innovation in the field of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Confidentiality
Our service is committed to ensuring client confidentiality. Limits to confidentiality are determined by best practice guidelines.

Standards of Practice at the HLC
Counsellors and therapists are fully accredited practitioners who adhere strictly to the ethical frameworks of their professional bodies, in order to ensure high standards of safe and ethical practices. Pre-accredited counsellors and therapists also provide some services and are welcome members of recognised professional bodies. We welcome feedback from our clients to ensure that we are providing the best possible service at all times.

What does it cost?
The cost of a session with a practitioner is related to your income and will be discussed with you at you initial appointment which costs €30.

Next steps
You can take your first step towards seeking support for your difficulties by simply calling the HLC at 01 7007171 for an appointment. At your first appointment you will be given an opportunity to speak with one of our practitioners and you will then be offered counselling, psychotherapy or psychosocial group work in the HLC or you may be referred to a more appropriate agency.
